The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Regs 2006) sets controls that aim to reduce the disposal by landfill or incineration of electrical equipment.

The WEEE directive is aiming to achieve a higher level of environmental protection and encouraging resource efficiency. It sets targets for the collection, reuse and recycling of electronic and electrical waste.
